William Gillheeney

William Gillheeney of Riverside, RI passed away peacefully on Saturday June 4, 2022 at Berkshire Place Providence, RI. William was the beloved son of the late Edward F. and Mary Louise (Burke) Gillheeney  and beloved brother to the late Edward F. Gillheeney Jr. and the late Patricia Gillheeney.

William was a veteran of the United States Navy where he worked as an electrician’s mate on the USS MYLES.

He received the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star and National Defense Service Medal.

William gained employement at the Hudson Terminal in Providence where he worked for twenty plus years as a dock worker.He enjoyed vacationing and traveling with his long time girlfriend, Pat. Many times they visited Aruba, Las Vegas and Cape Cod.

He is survived his son, Sean P. Gillheeney and his wife Claudette. His grandchildren, Emma and William Gillheeney of Riverside, RI.  His son, Kyle J. Gillheeney and  his wife Mandy of Riverside, RI. Their mother, Rosemary  Souza also of Riverside, RI. His sister in- law, Jeanette Gillheeney and his niece and great nephews.

William will be deeply missed by family and friends.

William's Funeral Services and Burial will be private. He will be laid to rest in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
