Virginia (Ginger) Hood Dreier

Virginia (Ginger) Hood Dreier, 56, of Barrington, R.I. passed away peacefully at home on July 11 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Peter L. Hood and Mary (McRae) Hood, Ginger was born in Darien, CT and moved to Barrington at the age of 4. A graduate of Barrington High School, Ginger attended Bucknell University where she double majored in Art and English. Upon graduation, she moved to Boston where she was employed as an art director for several advertising agencies which fostered her lifelong passions of art and interior design. In 1999, Ginger married her high school sweetheart Robert Dreier and they soon welcomed their son William and daughter Lucy. The Dreiers returned to Barrington to raise their children where Ginger embraced the role of devoted mother. Her children meant the world to her and she poured her endless love and energy into helping them grow into the amazing, successful adults they are today. Being the consummate artist that she was, she worked tirelessly to make the world around them as beautiful as she possibly could. She is survived by her husband Rob, her children Will and Lucy, her mother Mary Hood Davis, and sister Kimberly Spaight.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 19th at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Barrington.
