Virginia A. (Miller) Baxter

Virginia A. Baxter 96, passed away on February 12, 2025.  Virginia is predeceased by her husband  A. David Baxter, with whom she spent 59 great years. Born in Providence, RI she was the daughter of the late Ray O. and Sarah (Browning) Miller.

 After graduating from East Providence High School class of 1945, and Edgewood Junior College, Virginia worked as a PBX Operator at Bradley Hospital in East Providence from 1969 to1992 and previously worked at the Providence Gas Company for seven years.

She was active in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, as Past Worthy Advisor of Providence Assembly and Past Mother Advisor of Riverside Assembly. Also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Cranston Rainbow Alumni as well as an Assistant Girl Scout Leader.

Virginia leaves behind a son, Scott Baxter of Central Falls, RI, a daughter, Gayle Baxter of Summerville, SC, with whom she lived. A brother Bruce Miller and his wife Marjorie of Riverside, RI , a sister in law, Mary Miller of Bristol, RI. A Granddaughter, great Granddaughter and several Niece's and Nephew's 

Visitation will be on Sunday February 23, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday February 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St John's Episcopal Church 191 County Road Barrington, RI 02806. Burial will be private.
