Obituary

Shirley M. Savory, 88, of Warwick passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 23, 2023.  Born in Pomham Terrace, East Providence she was the daughter of the late Howarth and Mabel (Armitage) Gregory.

She served as a special needs bus monitor for the Warwick School Department for many years.  She loved watching the Red Sox and had a thorough knowledge of the game and all the players.  Music was always an important part of her life.  In her early years she sang in a country music band, then in a barbershop chorus, and church choir. In recent years she enjoyed singing at the Pilgrim Senior Center with her piano playing boyfriend, Tony Pisano.

Shirley was the mother of Thomas (Kimberly) Lower, Michael Lower, Laurie (Dennis) Sperduti, and Linda (Joseph) Pizzo.  She was loving “Chickie” to grandchildren Kerri-Lynn (John) Dancause, Derek Lower, Daniel (Brittney) Sperduti, Jonathan Sundstrom, Gregory Sundstrom, and Dennis Reiff.  She was great-grandmother to Carter, Cameron, Addalyn, Malcolm, Briella, and Samuel.  She was predeceased by her five siblings Howarth, Leonard, and Donald Gregory, Thelma Work, and Beverly Viau.

Funeral and burial will be private.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in Shirley’s name, please make donations to: HopeHealth Hospice Care, 1085 North main Street Providence, RI 02904. https://www.hopehealthco.org/
