Shirley A. (Parker) Olson

Shirley Olson (Parker)  87, of Riverside RI died surrounded by her family’s love on November 20, 2022, after a long courageous battle with dementia. Shirley was the loving wife of Robert C Olson for 54 years before his passing in 2006.

The daughter of Malcom and Margaret Parker, Shirley was pre-deceased by her siblings, Margaret, Mildred “Peachie” and Robert.

Shirley was the loving mother of six children: David, John, Paul (Sue), Donna (Jon), Carol (Brian), Earl (Lorraine). Grandmother (“Nan”) to Eric (Karin), Sandra (AJ), Phillip (Jannah), Nathanial, Jonathan, Thomas, Emily, Garrett. Great-Grandmother to Liam, Lilyanna, Eleanor, Ray Gene.

Shirley is also survived by several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

A little lady with a big spirit, Shirley was a long-time active member of the Riverside Congregational Church and the Svea Lodge of Vasa Order of America. Shirley enjoyed bowling, trips with her sisters and cheering for the four New England sports teams. She delighted in attending the many events, plays, games, concerts and award ceremonies of her children and grandchildren.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Orchard View Manor for their quality of care for Shirley.
