Robert Osborne Obituary
Robert L. Osborne (90) of Coventry, passed away Wednesday September 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Whitaker) Osborne of 70 years. He leaves his grandson Michael L. Osborne, granddaughter Barbara Jean Osborne Dougan and her husband Timothy. He also leaves 5 great grandchildren Meagan, Timothy and Samantha Dougan, Nickolas and Ashley Osborne.
Robert retired from the East Providence Police Department after 30 years in 1977. He was most proud of his military service as an original member of the 82nd Airborne 504 PIR HQ CO 1st Battalion Unit (Devils in baggy pants). Having received many medals including the purple heart with two oak leaf clusters, the Bronze Star and the Legion of Honor from France. He served as master of St Andrews Masonic Lodge in 1971, thereafter, becoming a candidate and being accepted by the Scottish Rite in RI. He also was a member of the Simadi Shrine Club of NH.
Robert enjoyed camping, model trains, scroll sawing and flying model airplanes. He was well known for his charming personality and love for his family.Service
