Robert Nascimento Obituary

Robert "Skip" E. Nascimento passed away, surrounded by family, on October 20, 2019 at his home in North Providence. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Fusco) Nascimento. Raised in Riverside, he was the son of the late Edmund and Lois (King) Nascimento and brother of the late Barbara McNeil Nicolls.

Robert served his country as a Vietnam era U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany. He was the former Business Agent for the International Heat and Frost Insulators Union, Local #31 and a former employee of the RI Secretary of State office. At the time of his passing, he was employed as the Recycling Coordinator for the town of North Providence. 

A graduate of East Providence High School, he remained active in the community while raising his daughters. Robert served as a Special Officer with the East Providence Police Department and was a well-respected and admired Rumford Little League coach and St. Margaret CYO basketball coach.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Dunja Nascimento-Wilson and her wife Christine of Clayton, NC and Nadja (Nascimento) McLintock and her husband Robert of Swansea, MA; a sister, Carol (Nascimento) Kogut, and her husband, Anthony, of Riverside; a brother, Edward Nascimento, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lakeland, FL; and stepchildren Suzanne (Williams) Lewis and her husband Robert of Charlotte, NC; and Jason Williams of North Providence, RI.   A great joy of his life in his later years were, his ten grandchildren: David and Steven McLintock; Bennett, Karsten, Mackenzie Nascimento and TJ Bova; Parker, Maranda, and Joshua Lewis; and Chase Williams. He is also survived by four nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., in the Smith Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave, Riverside, RI, 02915. Burial will be private.
