Madden, Robert K. 90, of Riverside, Formerly of Barrington died peacefully at home on Friday July 17th. He was the beloved husband of Donalda “Donna” Madden. He was worked constantly at various jobs until retiring. Born in Providence, He was a son of the late Earl and Clara Polly Madden. He was a member of Post 8 American Legion, the Pawtuxet Rangers, and during WWII he served with the Marines and was part of the first wave invading Iwo Jima, was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Christine Madden of Pittsburg, PA, Margaret Johnson of Warwick, a sister, Ursula Anderson of Warwick, a late son, Robert K. Madden Jr, a late daughter Beverly Madden, 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Patricia Palumbo, Earl and Alan Madden. He also leaves two stepsons, George Fantacone of East Providence, John Fantacone of Barrington, a stepdaughter Donalda Fantacone of Lauderdale by the Sea, FL. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at8:45 AM from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke’s Church 108 Washington Road Barrington at 10 AM. Calling Hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in Swan Point Cemetery in Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the RI and MA Regional Safety Net Program American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike Suite 300 Rockville MD 20852.
