Fairfield, Richard T. 91, formerly of Barrington, RI died September 27, 2016. He was the husband of Flora Fairfield (Maddocks) and the son of the late William Fairfield and Leona (Forsyth) Fairfield. Richard grew up in South Portland, ME and graduated from the University of Maine. Richard was a Claims Examiner for American Universal Insurance Company for many years. He was a retired Colonel in the Army Reserves and a member of the Barrington Congregational Church.
Richard leaves a Daughter, Gail DiPierro of Barrington, RI, two sons, Loran Fairfield of North Providence, RI, Scott Fairfield of Canastota, NY. He was predeceased by his son, Richard D. Fairfield. Richard also leaves six Grandchildren, Chris, Alison, Jeffrey, Ryan, William and Amanda and one Great Grandchild, CJ.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 2-4pm. The Burial for Richard will be held Monday at 10:00am at Forest Chapel Cemetery Nayatt Road in Barrington,RI to which relatives and friends are invited, followed by a Memorial service Monday October 3, at 11am at the Barrington Congregational Church 461 County Road Barrington, RI 02806. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barrington Congregational Church would be greatly appreciated.
