Wyche, Rachel D., died Saturday at Orchard View Manor surrounded by her family. She was born in Gardner, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Berthe (Barthel) Donahue. After graduating from Bryant College, she moved to Cambridge, MA, to work at Harvard where she met her beloved husband, Cyril Wyche, Jr., just after WWII. They would have been married for 70 years this coming May. They raised their family in Weston, MA, then moved to Barrington to fulfill Rae’s life-long dream of living near the ocean. Rae was a Silver-Circle member and past president of the Barrington Women’s Club, a member of the Barrington Garden Club, the Bogies Golf League, and a past member of the American Contract Bridge League of Pawtucket. She leaves her husband, Cyril Wyche, Jr. of Barrington; a son, David Wyche of Asheville, NC; two daughters, Deborah Pfeiffer of Burlington, MA and Candyce Wainwright of Topsfield, MA; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She will be buried in Forest Chapel Cemetery on Friday, February 19th. A memorial service will be held at 11am at the Barrington Congregational Church with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, 02871 would be appreciated.
