Keating, Prudence “Shirley” passed away on June 17, 2016 at the age of 87. She was wife of the late Robert Keating and daughter of the late Lyman and Alice (Munroe) Chaffee. Prudence was the sister of Judith Ralph and the late Helen Marshall. She is mother of Deborah (Torrey) Macedo Garner and her husband George of Riverside, Emerson Torrey and his wife Susan of East Greenwich, James Torrey of Big Bear, CA, and the late Arthur Torrey. Shirley was the grandmother of nine, great grandmother of eight, and great great grandmother of four. She was a past president and is a lifelong member of the American Auxiliary Riverside Post 10. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at 9AM in Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave. Riverside, RI 02915, with a Service at 10AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Visiting Nurses Services Hospice and Palliative Care of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871
