Paula J. (Haggstrom) Dubord

Paula J. (Haggstrom) Dubord, 72, of Riverside passed away comfortably on Friday, December 19, 2025 following a heroic battle with cancer. She had a peaceful day filled with visits from family and friends.  She was the cherished daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Rundgren) Haggstrom.

She is survived by her beloved daughters Dawn Dubord of Riverside and Kerri Gendice and her husband Michael of Warwick. In addition to her daughters, she leaves behind four grandchildren (Kaitlyn Dubord and Matthew Hastie of Riverside and Kyle and Ryan Gendice of Warwick) and one great granddaughter (Skyla Dubord of Riverside).  She was the sister of Robert Haggstrom of Riverside.  She was an avid reader and worked for almost 30 years at the Weaver Public Library in East Providence. 

As many knew, Paula loved nothing more than being around her family. They were the center of her world.  She enjoyed any time she could spend with her family including holidays, cookouts, trips to Hampton Beach and relaxing by the pool. A proud grandmother, she loved all of her grandchildren’s achievements and watching them participate in sports or dance recitals. She loved gardening and had a special fondness for hummingbirds, which brought her great joy when one would drink off her hummingbird feeder. She enjoyed sewing, going for walks, looking for new recipes to make, warm weather, playing Candy Crush on her phone, spending time with her cousins and friends, and watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox play. She wouldn’t turn down a good cheeseburger, lobster roll, sangria or a Truly. She will be missed dearly by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM, followed immediately by a service at 10:30 AM at the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave. Riverside, RI 02915. Burial will be at Little Neck Cemetery, Riverside, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro's Children’s Hospital. Paula would love this in honor of her grandson, Ryan Gendice.
