PATRICIA LYNNE O’BRIEN, 61, of 36 Magnolia St, Cranston, died last Friday in San Francisco, CA, where she had been residing for the past six months. She is survived by her adoring son, Trevor M. O’Brien, her sisters: Sharon A. Caulfield, Gale M. Fallon, Sandra L. Poole, Michele D. Broomfield, Dawne E. Gatling, Robin J. Quigley, and Kerri A. Carr; her brothers: Clifford N. Carr III, Michael W. Carr, and Robert J. Carr; and her husband, William M. O’Brien. She was the sister of the late Norma Jean Smith, and the daughter of the late Norma L. Carr and the late Clifford N. Carr Jr.



Ms. O’Brien graduated from East Providence High School in 1973 and later received her Accounting Certificate from the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Community College of RI.



She was a hard-working woman, respectfully holding positions in accounting and bookkeeping for nearly thirty years. She was a long-time employee of Church Travel Agency and later worked for Meals on Wheels in Providence. Since 2010, she had been an employee of Bank of America.



Ms. O’Brien loved music, flowers, peace, and happiness. Most of all she loved her family. She was an inspiring mother, a loving sister, a thoughtful friend, and an honest woman.
A funeral service will be held Monday at Smith-Mason Funeral Home in East Providence with calling hours from 5pm to 7pm. A private memorial mass will be held at St. Matthew’s in Cranston on Tuesday. Visit smithmason.com for online obituary and condolences
