Bentley, Nancy E. (Borland), formerly of Barrington, passed away June 7, 2016. She was the wife of the late James “Al” Bentley. Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Florence M. (Hall) Borland. Nancy was a 1947 graduate of North Providence High School and Edgewood Secretarial School in Barrington (1948). From 1964-1974, she was employed at the Barrington Congregational Church, the Barrington Times newspaper, and the Barrington Town Hall. She was employed at the Barrington Public Library from 1974 until her retirement in 1992. Nancy will be most remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Family was everything to her. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Dumas of Cranston, RI; two grandchildren, Gregory Dumas (Laurel) of Blue River, Colorado and Suzanne M. Ward-Smith (Anthony) of Cranston, RI; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Maeve Ward-Smith of Cranston. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan L. Bentley. Her funeral and burial will be private.
