Lyle, Nancy H., 89 of Barrington, died peacefully Lyle, Nancy H., 89 of Barrington, died peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2015. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 66 years, Alexander G. Lyle, Jr. on August 3, 2015. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John W. Haley and Beatrice E. Haley-Waring (Frost).
Nancy graduated from the Mary C. Wheeler School ’44; and the Newport Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Nancy’s love for The Wheeler School extended from her early days as a student, then as a parent, an active Alumnae, a Trustee and most especially in her 25 years as “Nurse Nancy”.
Survived by her four children; Alexander G. Lyle III (Janet) of Lincolnville, ME; Jan Lyle Malcolm (Robert) of Barrington; Lynda Lyle Pittenger (Michael) of Merrimack, NH; Nancy Lyle Burlingame (Blair) of Barrington, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Haley Clark and Jane Haley Belling, pre-deceased by her brother John W. Haley, Jr.
Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 9:30 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington, RI 02806. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in memory of Nancy Haley Lyle “Nurse Nancy”, to The Wheeler School, 216 Hope Street, Providence, RI 02906.
