Collins, Mark W. 69, of Swansea, Massachusetts, passed away on November 14, 2015. Mr. Collins was born in Providence, RI, and was the son of Benjamin and Aletha Collins. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years Janice (Salt) Ann Collins. He was a member of the Navy and served during Vietnam.
Mark above all enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, whether it be travelling to their favorite places like Cape Cod, supporting them in their lives' many endeavors, or sharing a family dinner at home. He also enjoyed spending time with his best four-legged friend, Princess.
In his leisure time, Mark enjoyed a myriad of pastimes with his family and many friends. They included antique cars and shows, a round of golf here and there, auto racing, and spending time sailing and boating on the water; one of his favorite places to be. Mark and Salt had also grown into snow birds in Florida, allowing them to share these and other pastimes year-round.
He is survived by his two sons David W. Collins of Riverside, and Kevin C. Collins of Northampton, MA; a brother, Paul Collins of Warren, RI, a sister, Nancy Etherson of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and three grandchildren Aubrey, Julia, and Randy.
A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Warren German American Club, 27 Kelly Street Warren, RI 02885, on Saturday November 21 from 12 to 4 pm. The event is casual and family and friends are welcome to come and go at their leisure to share their fun memories of Mark. Those who enjoyed antique cars with Mark are encouraged to attend with their cars. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the RI Chapter of the American Heart Association, 1 State Street Suite 200 Providence, RI 02908, would be greatly appreciated.
