It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Horne Gladding (82) of Bristol.

She passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22nd surrounded by her family.

Margaret was the daughter of the late David A. Horne and Esther M. Horne. Devoted and beloved mother of Wendy Gladding (Jeffrey Adams) and Jeffrey Gladding and proud Grandmother of Keely Marsh (Justin) and Great Grandmother of Sterling Marsh. She is survived by her “only sister” Priscilla DiMarco (the late Rino DiMarco) of Barrington and her big brother David “Marshall” Horne (Phoebe) of Windham, Maine. She was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Margaret grew up in Barrington and raised her family there before moving to Bristol where she resided for over 30 years. 

Margaret loved plants and animals and spent many years working in the plant care business and after that, over 2 decades working in animal care. 

She had and loved many dogs and cats of her own and also very much enjoyed caring for the wildlife in her yard.  Birds, squirrels, and a little chipmunk who she affectionately called “Chippy”.

She was most happy when she was with her family and friends. She appreciated the simple life and loved being at home. She enjoyed watching movies, playing games and spending time with her loved ones. She was generous and kind and truly a genuine person. She will be greatly missed by her family…. She meant the world to them!

A memorial service celebrating Margaret will be held at a future date.
