June Rosamond (Grime) Adams

June Rosamond (Grime) Adams, 92, formerly of Barrington, RI, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024.  

Born in Acushnet, MA to the late Inez (Brierley) and Thomas Grime, June was the youngest of eight children. After graduating from New Bedford High School, she enlisted in the US Air Force. She honorably served her country for four years and was proud to be named Airman of the Month. After her military career, June used the GI Bill to attend Bryant College. It was there that she met another Veteran, named Norman “Bud” Adams, who would become her husband.

June and Bud were happily married for 61 years until Bud’s passing in 2020. Together they built a wonderful life in Barrington, RI where they raised their five sons. June was a remarkable mother. She could cook enough food to feed all of her sons along with a houseful of their friends. She enjoyed singing in the choir at the Barrington Congregational Church, liked painting ceramics, spent time on a bowling league, and was an avid quilter who loved to gift family with beautiful quilts. June was a voracious reader and a lover of murder mysteries. She volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels and was a high-volume Red Cross blood donor.

June was known for her warmth and hospitality. With her five sons, she was known for hosting and creating memorable traditions like their annual Fourth of July picnic at the lake. She and Bud loved to travel. They spent summers at Gardner Lake in Bozrah, CT and winters in Nassau, Bahamas. Nothing brought June more joy than having her house filled with her children and grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her four brothers (Norman, Leonard, Robert, and Thomas) and her three sisters (Muriel, Hazel and Annetta). She is survived by her five sons and their families: Joseph and Donna of East Providence, RI and children Jared and Joshua (fiancé Michaela); Jeff and Kim of Longmeadow, MA and children Kristen, Brian (fiancé Elise) and Eric; Jason of Warren, RI and former wife Patricia and children Frances, Jack and Joseph; James and Terry of Douglas, MA and child Jonathan; and Jerauld of Barrington, RI and children Audrey, Hugh, Hope, and Miles.

A private service / funeral will be held, and there will be no calling hours, in accordance with the family’s wishes.
