Hervey McNally Obituary

Hervey V. McNally, 102, passed away on Sunday December 6, 2020.  He was the husband of 73 years of the late  Irene C. (Rooney) McNally. Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of Hervey McNally and Alice E. (Gully) McNally. He leaves two sons - Alan H. McNally, and his wife Linda of Harrisville, RI,  Steven R. McNally of Poulsbo, WA; two daugthers - Carol A.  Janus, and her husband Robert of Hope, RI; and Janice E. McNally of Melbourne, FL. He was the brother of the late Raymond G. McNally. He also leaves two sister-in-laws Evelyn A. Cuddigan of Seekonk, Ma, and Doris M. Jannke of Melbourne Beach, FL, and the late brothers-in-law Russell L. Rooney Jr, and William J. Cuddigan. And he also leaves two step grandsons Matthew and Jacob, four step grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He worked for Union Chemicals division of Chevron as a customer service manager in Providence for 34 yrs. He was a lifelong member of Barrington United Methodist Church, serving as trustee and treasurer for many years. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Master of Corinthian Lodge #27, and a life member of the Scottish Rite Masons. He was also a longtime member of the West Barrington Men’s Club, joining in 1963. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. He enjoyed the game of golf, was a life member of a local group of buddies called the “Romeos”, and he started every day with a long walk and a bowl of cereal and blueberries.
