Helen Cline Crowe McGinniss was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 4, 1934 to Esther and Henry Crowe of Pawtucket, RI.  She married Donald McGinniss of Danbury, Connecticut. The two met at the University of Rhode Island and were married in June 1956.  Helen and Donald eventually divorced and she moved back to Barrington, RI where she taught in the Barrington Public School System at Primrose Hill Elementary for 24 years. Following retirement she moved to West Warwick, RI and lived there until her death on 10/12/2018.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, teacher and artist. She handcraft knit sweaters, oriental rugs, and impeccable Nantucket Baskets. She was an active theater patron, long time member of the Handicraft Club in Providence, Rhode Island, and an excellent cook.

Helen leaves behind three sisters: Susan Bollinger, Ginny Stauch, and Judith Crowe, as well as two children: David McGinniss and Karen Fullerton, and three grandchildren: Allison McGinniss, Henry McGinniss and Ryan Fullerton.

Calling hours will be at the Smith Mason Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday 10/18/18 located at 398 Willett Ave, Riverside, RI 02915. On Friday 10/19/2018  she  will be buried at Forest Chapel Cemetary Nayatt Rd Barrington  RI ,and there will be a service at St John’s Episcopal Church 191 County Rd, Barrington, RI 02806 at 10:00 am.
