George F. Fallon

Fallon, George F., of Riverside RI died Sunday February 21, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar inpatient Hospice Center. George was the husband of the late Barbara L. Fallon (Anthony). He was born in Providence RI, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Griffin) Fallon. George was a Photoengraver for the Providence Journal for many years. He served as President of the Lithographers and Photoengravers International Union.

He joined the Army when he was nineteen years old trained at Camp Croft South Carolina, after training he was shipped to North Africa as part of the Third Infantry Division. He was a survivor of the battle of Anzio in Italy. He continued North with the Third Infantry through Italy, France and ending up in Germany. Mr. Fallon held the rank of Sargent while he served his Country. He also was a liberator of a Russian Woman’s POW Camp during WWII. He is a past Commander of the American Legion Post #10.

Besides his late wife he leaves his beloved son George F. Fallon Jr. and his wife Captain Terryanne St Pierre of Salem Mass. He also leaves his beloved daughter Robin Fallon Peacock of Riverside RI. He was brother to the late Charles Fallon and his wife Alice of Pawtucket, the late Frank Fallon and his wife Ruth of Warwick, the late Peter Fallon and his wife Helen of Burriville, the late Stephen Fallon and his wife Rita of Alston, MA, the late Robert Fallon and his wife Ann of New Jersey, the late Anna Chenes and her husband Walter of Providence, and the late Rose Swanson and her husband Philip of Riverside. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Amber Peacock Buttermore and her husband Kenneth of NH, John N. Peacock III and his partner Elizabeth Dalpe of NH, Jessica Fallon and her husband David Lopez of NH, Jocelyn Adolfsson and her husband Bjorn of Kansas. He is also survived by the littlest loves of his life six great grandchildren, Jada and Gianna Lopez, Fallon and Keller Peacock and Scarlett and Cosette Buttermore and two step grandchildren, Alessandra and her husband Domeninc Ingemi and a step grandson Anthony Femino. He is also survived by his niece Gail L. Mason and his adopted daughter Linda Rodrigues and many nieces and nephews.

George loved his family and friends dearly. He was a devoted father, grandfather, Uncle and best friend. He was funny, kind and had a heart of gold. He loved reading, swimming and music, yet most of all he loved his family.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9:45 AM from the Smith Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915, with a mass of Christian Burial at St. Brendan’s Church, 60 Turner Avenue, Riverside , RI 02915, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trl, East Providence, RI 02914, with military honors. Calling Hours are Thursday February 25, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, would be greatly appreciated.
