Elizabeth M. (Tytus) Reid

Elizabeth M. (Bette) Reid passed away Monday June 7th, 2021, at the age of 100, a goal she was determined to reach. Wife of the late Robert F. Reid, an educator in town, she resided in Barrington since the late 1940’s. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Maude Tytus and was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. At the time of her death, she was a resident at the Hattie Ide Chaffee home in East Providence.

Bette is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Reid Materne and Douglas Materne, three treasured grandsons - Steven, David, and Thomas, and seven great grandchildren - Raelin, Brian, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Thomas, Andrew, and Henry, along with many nieces and nephews. She always felt truly blessed to have all of her family living here in Barrington allowing her to enjoy all the milestones and celebrations of her grandchildren’s and their families’ lives.

A private burial will be held at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington with a Celebration of Life being held on Wednesday June 16th at 11am at the Barrington Yacht Club on Barton Avenue in Barrington.
