Wood, Daniel H., 88, a resident of Brookdale East Bay in Riverside, RI, passed peacefully on Tuesday December 8th at Lynn Healthcare Center. He was a resident of Annapolis, MD and Warner, New Hampshire for many years. Prior to that a life-long East Providence Townie. He was the son of Hiriam Buffington and Prudence Murray Wood. Daniel was married to the late Barbara Hinman Wood for 50 years and for the last 15 years to the late Julia Lassotovitch.

He was a WW2 Army Veteran. Daniel was an insurance salesman for John Hancock and was a member of the Chevaliers of Loyalty Chapter in Riverside. He was a past member of the RI Wind Ensemble and the East Providence Community Chorus. Dan always had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone. He loved music, Tucker Pond and most of all his family.

He leaves behind two sons, Douglas Wood and his wife Susan of Warwick, and Christopher Wood and his wife Amy of Greenville, RI. He was also the father of the late Carolyn Wood of Burlington, VT. Daniel was one of 11 children and leaves 1 sister, Reverend Patricia Smith. He had 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Hope Congregational Church, 120 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI 02915, on Saturday December 12th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Congregational Church would be appreciated.
