Gizzarelli, Albina P.V. 95, passed away March 18, 2016 at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Home, East Providence, R.I. She was the wife of the late Angelo Gizzarelli and the daughter of the late Wladislav and Paulina Banulis. She had been a resident of Barrington since 1957.
Albina, a graduate of Girls' Latin School (Boston) and Sargent College (Boston University), was employed with the Barrington and Bristol school systems as a physical education teacher from 1945-1979. She was also a Certified CPR Trainer.
Albina loved mentoring her students ( many of whom she taught in one generation and then the next), visiting colleges with her daughters, shopping in Filene’s Basement, and playing Scrabble, board games, and the daily crossword puzzle. She also volunteered at the McAuley House in Providence and was a Docent at the Haffenraffer Museum in Bristol.
She leaves behind daughter Paula G. Lettice of Alexandria, VA and her two sons Jeffrey (Sherborn, MA; wife Melissa and their children Abigail and Anderson.) and Stephen (Durham, NC; wife Jennifer and their daughters Corinne and Shea) and daughter Roseanne G. Moresco of Temecula, CA and her two sons J.B. (Los Angeles, CA) and Brian (Prosper, TX and his wife Faith and their daughters Grayson and Lainey), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters-in-law.
