Albert J. Cardoza Sr.

Albert J. (John) Cardoza Sr., 90 of Riverside, RI passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI on August 31, 2022. Born in Warren, RI he was the son of the late William and Mary (Rego) Cardoza

He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta (Miranda) Cardoza of 51 years. Albert was a technician at RIPTA for 26 years before retiring. He also owned and ran a Texaco gas station in Bristol, RI and a Shell gas station in Warren RI.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children: William Cardoza (Marylou) of Warren, RI, Lori Rideout of Coventry, RI, Leslie DeCastro of Bristol, RI, Lisa Cadoza of Coventry, RI, Albert J. Cardoza Jr. of Coventry, RI, Lizabeth A. Joynes of Bristol, RI, Lois A. Richardson (Kenneth) of Coventry, RI and 4 step children, Octavia Spenser (Eugene) of Ocala, FL., Miguel Picanco (Diana) of Jacksonville, NC., Laura Lomas of Riverside, RI., Katherine Picanco of Ocala, FL. He was the former husband of the late Barbara (Pezzullo) Cardoza. Albert was also the beloved grandfather (Papa) to 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Albert had a sarcastic and caring attitude that we will all cherish for ever. Whenever someone asked him how he was doing, he would always respond with “Not too bad for and old buck”. He always enjoyed country western TV shows and movies. You would always find him with at least one scratch ticket, Powerball/Keno ticket at all times, he loved to donate to the RI/ MA lottery. He was a very independent guy, he would show up anywhere just to see his family, he would always show up unexpectedly.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to his visitation on Wednesday September 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service on Thursday September 8, 2022 in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Ave Riverside, RI 02915.
