Williams, Thomas R., 78 of Massasoit Avenue Barrington died Sunday March 23rd at RI Hospital. He was the husband of Vernetta “Vern” (Zulegar) Williams. He was born in Harbor Beach, MI a son of the late J .Edgar and Ilene (Profit) Williams. He was an Electrical Engineer for Raytheon for 25 years retiring in 1992. He previously worked for Collins Radio in Iowa and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Tom was a Ham Radio operator with the call letters of WA1IAF and a member of the Old Goats Net in MI. He was the Videographer for St. James Lutheran Church in Barrington responsible for the TV broadcast of services. He was especially fond of being on the water and fishing. He was a WWII Air Force Veteran. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Brent T. Williams of Charlestown, RI, two daughters, Janice Ricci of Epping, NH, Wendy Lombardi of Nashua, NH and a sister, Marjorie Stocks of Townsend, MT. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4th at 10:30 AM in St. James Lutheran Church, 49 Middle Highway Barrington. Calling hours are in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside on Thursday, April 3rd from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be in Prince’s Hill Cemetery in Barrington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. James Church or “Take A Kid Fishing” c/o RI Saltwater Anglers Association 6 Arnold Road Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated.
