92, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 17, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Ila (Winterbottom Johnston). Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Elliott) Laremore.
Dick was the Rector at St. Matthews Episcopal church in Barrington for 24 years and served at many parishes in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He also faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and after his ordination, as a Chaplain in the RI National Guard, until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel in 1978.
He is survived by his daughters Judith Germain (Frank) of Bradenton, FL, Deborah White (LeRoy) of Austin TX and his son Douglas Johnston (Sherri) of Barrington. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late William Laremore of Guilderland, NY.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 3rd at 10 AM, at St. Matthew and Mark Episcopal Church, 5 Chapel Road, Barrington. A private burial will follow. Visiting hours are 4-7pm on Friday February 2nd, at Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside.
