boat he loved, Ruth M. There was never a time that boat left port without his children Kim and Scott, their friends and then grandchildren, Jared, Amanda, Victoria, Tom and Dylan and their friends. He taught them all about respect for the ocean, its beauty and its fierceness and instilled in them a love of salt water. When forced on land, he was an avid rail fan and loved to watch the local trains and studied the history of local train yards and steam engines. He was a member of the NRA and for 30 years an advocate of school choice long before it became a popular political issue.
