Joan G. (Greenhalgh) Stevens

Passed away December 1, 2018. Joan was the beloved wife of Richard H. Stevens (deceased) for 56 years, and the mother of Mark H. Stevens of Riverside, and Kim (Stevens) Sarkisian and her husband Sarkis of Natick, MA. She leaves four grandchildren: Megan J. (Stevens) Garrity and her husband Michael Garrity of North Attleboro, MA; Erin F. Stevens and her significant other Sean Sparks of Warren, RI; and Skyler D. Sarkisian & Dylan M. Sarkisian, both of Natick, MA. In addition, she leaves a brother-in-law, Leonard B. Stevens, and his wife Bette, of Sarasota, Florida. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.  Joan was a longtime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and held many offices in the chapter over the years.  Her hobbies included reading and doing counted cross-stitch. Joan graduated from East Providence High School and attended Johnson & Wales. She worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island until her retirement. A private graveside service will be held Friday December 14, 2018 at 11:30 AM in Swan Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s honor to the Brewster Council on Aging, 1673 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.
