Horace "Jim" Shepherd

Horace “Jim” Shepherd, 76, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, August 3rd, 2018. He was the husband of Jorie (Jackson) Shepherd. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Horace and Kathleen (England) Shepherd. Jim worked as a Stationary Engineer for Rhode Island Hospital before retiring. He was an avid and accomplished gardener and loved fishing with his son John. In his earlier years he loved to hike the Yellow Dot Trail in Southern Rhode Island and enjoyed canoeing in many of the Rhode Island Rivers. He was an amazing story teller and loved to regale his family with stories of his youth.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, John M. Shepherd of Weymouth, MA and H. James Shepherd of West Palm Beach, FL, one daughter, Gerri Gail Witten of San Antonio, Texas, one stepson, John “J” Sellechio and eight grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside, RI 02915. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made online by going to the following website, www.Clefstrong5k.com , please donate under: Ruth Witten.
