Beverly Migliore Obituary

Beverly Ann (Milstone) Migliore of Barrington, Rhode Island passed away on March 18, 2024 after a battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.She was the treasured wife of Joseph Migliore, and loving mother of Matthew Migliore.  She was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Milstone, and survived by her brothers Mark Milstone, Jeffrey Milstone, and James Milstone.

 Bev spent her early years in Plainview, New York, where she attended St. Pius X School and Holy Trinity High School (Class of 1972).  She attended Providence College, where she graduated with a double major degree in Biochemistry & Psychology.  She earned her master’s degree from Brown University in Environmental Studies.   Later, she served as Adjunct Professor, Roger Williams University.. 

Bev spent her years dedicated to protecting the environment.  She served at Supervising Environmental Scientist or the State of Rhode Island for 33 years, where she helped create and enforce environmental policy and regulations related to hazardous waste.  She led efforts to reduce mercury, to encourage Green hospitality, and to support conservation as a Sustainability Issues Specialist.  Bev served as Executive Board member of RI Environthon, Inc. and as Secretary of RI Area Resource Conservation and Development Area Council (RIRC&D) where she was the director appointed Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management representative.  She also helped organize a Hazardous Waste Technician Certification program during her tenure at Roger Williams University.

Bev loved to volunteer and give back to her community.  She was very proud to have participated in leadership training in the Leadership RI 2008 (Delta II) Program and spent a great amount of time mentoring others in the program.  She also loved working with:The Barrington Conservation Commission,The Barrington Yacht Club Race Committee where she served as Chair, (She was acertified race officer of US Sailing),The Barrington Farm School where she regularly volunteered and sat on the board,The DELTA/Pet Partners Certified Pet Therapy team, and Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District, where she served as Chair. As a two-time kidney donation recipient, Bev was very grateful to the National Kidney Foundation. Bev was known to her family and friends as a wise and caring person.  She was a strong leader, who was a great cheerleader and organizer.  She was a dedicate friend and a loving wife and parent.  She loved music, good food, the theater, and her dogs. 

Visitation for Beverly will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2024 in the Smith-Mason  Funeral Home 398 Willitt  Ave Riverside, RI 02915 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Luke’s Church 108 Washington Road Barrington, RI 02806.
