Wilmot, Kenneth H.., 78, of New Bedford, formerly of Riverside died Monday . He was the husband of Elizabeth “ Betty” (Mosher) Wilmot. Born in New Bedford a son of the late Albert and Alice Whitaker Wilmot, he lived most of his life in Riverside before moving to New Bedford a year ago. Ken worked in the Tax Department for the City of East Providence before retiring. Active in Masonic organizations Ken was a Past Master of Rising Sun Lodge #30 in East Providence, a Past Master Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Commandry, York Rite, Liberty Royal Arch Chapter and Past Patron of Martha Washington Chapter O.E.S. He was member and officer of Roger Williams Grange and a Past Master of Dartmouth Grange. As an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Riverside he was a Lay Eucharistic Minister, member of the Vestry, the Choir and Pastoral Care Committee. He was also a Korean War Veteran. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Peter Wilmot of New Bedford, Mark Wilmot of Coventry, a brother Albert Charles Wilmot of Needham, MA, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and brother of the late Barbara Warburton. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in St. Mark’s Church 10 Turner Avenue Riverside. Burial will be in Padanaram Cemetery in South Dartmouth. Calling hours are Wednesday 4 to 8 PM in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside.
